Ohio County Public Library Names ‘Awesome Authors’

The Ohio County Public Library awarded Awesome Author Contest finalists, winners and the 2023 Awesome Author.
The ceremony on March 30, which was attended by students, family members, friends, teachers and others, concluded the Annual Awesome Creative Writing Contest for third and fourth grade students conducted by the Ohio County Public Library Children's Department.
A total of 157 entries were received from students from nine local schools.
The creativity of students' writing included the adventures of two sisters and their dog in magical lands, the story of a magic pencil and a mystery of a girl and her babysitter.
In addition to finalists, Clara Kelly was named the third grade winner, Kamden McNamara was named the fourth grade winner and Gianna White was named the Awesome Author.
The Awesome Author contest is open to students living in or attending school in Ohio County, West Virginia.
