WHEELING -- The Ohio County Republican Executive Committee is seeking applicants interested in being a member of the West Virginia House of Delegates.
Delegate Errikka Storch, R-Ohio, has announced she will resign her office after accepting a job as external affairs manager at Appalachian Power.
Storch's departure creates a vacancy in Delegate District 4.
Carlee Dittmar, chair of the Ohio County GOP executive committee, said the committee is presently accepting applications for those wanting to fill the delegate seat.
Those wanting to apply must be a registered Republican living in District 4, and a resident may confirm their district by checking with an interactive map available through the West Virginia Secretary of State's Office at sos.wv.gov/elections.
The deadline to apply is May 26, and the executive committee will meet at a time to be determined to interview applicants, according to Dittmar.
Committee members will select the names of three candidates to send on to Gov. Jim Justice, who will have 15 days in which to appoint the next District 4 delegate from among the three.
