Youth Services System will once again welcome blood donors to their central office in honor of the late son of one of YSS' employees.

The second-annual "Logan's Legacy" blood drive will be held from noon-5:30 p.m. Thursday, May 11, at YSS' headquarters at the Hazel Atlas Building, located at 87 15th Street in Wheeling.

"Logan's Legacy" is held in memory of Logan Fluharty, the son of Tanya Duncan, the residential manager at the Tuel Center, part of the YSS Transitional Living Program. Fluharty was diagnosed in April 2020 with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. After remission, he underwent a bone marrow transplant in November 2020. In March 2021, Fluharty relapsed and he died on Aug. 1, 2021 at age 18.

During his treatment, Fluharty received more than 100 blood and platelet products.

Donors can sign up for a time slot by calling 304-830-4828 or emailing tduncan@ysswv.com. Donors also can scan a QR code that can be found on the YSS website at youthservicessystem.org.
