Ohio County Animal Shelter Rabies Clinics Begin Wednesday

The Ohio County Animal Shelter is gearing up for its annual rabies vaccination clinics with the first taking place from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Madison Elementary School.

The clinics are for dogs or cats only and costs $8 per animal. Animals must be in a carrier or leashed during the clinic.

There is no residency requirement; pet owners who reside in other states can attend, too.

Other upcoming vaccination clinics, all held from 5-7 p.m., include:

– Thursday, Ritchie Elementary School;

– Friday, Warwood Elementary School;

– July 10, West Liberty Elementary School;

– July 11, Woodsdale Elementary School;

– July 12, Wheeling City Building;

– July 13, Valley Grove Community Center; and

– July 14, Bridge Street Middle School.

If a pet is deemed aggressive or a danger to the public or itself, the veterinarian or dog warden can refuse to vaccinate the animal.
