WHEELING -- After almost 40 years of leadership, Community Bank announced that William "Bill" Petroplus has retired from his role as director.
"It has been an incredible privilege to serve as Director of Community Bank," Petroplus stated. "I am immensely proud of what we have accomplished together as a team. The bank is well-positioned for continued success, and I have every confidence in the capable hands of our talented staff and leadership."
Petroplus' tenure with the bank includes service as a Director and Chairman of the Board of First West Virginia Bank Corp; Director, President & CEO of Progressive Bank and most recently Director of Community Bank and CB Financial Services.
In a release, Community Bank said Petroplus has "provided his steady hand and keen guidance throughout the last few decades and the bank has not only thrived financially but has also embraced innovation and technology to provide modern financial solutions to its clients."
According to the bank, during Petroplus' tenure, the bank has achieved numerous milestones, expanded its client base, and strengthened its position in the market.
"As Bill embarks on this new chapter, Community Bank expresses its deep gratitude for his unwavering dedication, strategic insights, and inspirational leadership," the release continued. "The Bank remains committed to upholding the values and principles that Bill has instilled throughout his tenure."
Petroplus believes education is a cornerstone of progress, and Community Bank will honor that belief through honorary donations made to local educational institutions.
These include the creation of a scholarship at Wheeling Park High School for a graduating senior in the Class of 2024. This scholarship will provide a deserving student in our community with the opportunity to pursue their dreams and achieve their academic aspirations.
A second donation to the Linsly School's golf program will allow the younger generation to learn a sport that allows for expanding their relationships and encourages collaboration. A final donation to the Central Catholic High School in Wheeling will support the tuition assistance program, a needs-based program that supports students in their quest for knowledge.
