One of Two Suspects in Downtown Wheeling Shooting Surrenders to Police

WHEELING -- A suspect in a shooting investigation turned himself in Monday afternoon, according to the Wheeling Police Department.

Raheem Maxwell turned himself into police late Monday afternoon, according to WPD. He was arraigned by an Ohio County Magistrate, where he posted a $5,000 surety bond and was released.

Maxwell and Sheena Anna-Marie Ware, 21, of Wheeling, were wanted in connection with a Friday night shooting.

According to WPD, officers were called to the 1400 block of Market Street around 11:10 p.m. Friday for a report of shots fired and an injured female on the sidewalk. The victim was taken to WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital for medical treatment and is expected to recover.

Police are still searching for Ware.
