The Salvation Army of Ohio, Marshall, Wetzel, and Tyler counties has announced that Wheeling dentist Dr. Ricardo Zambito will serve as the organization's 2023 Red Kettle Christmas Chair.
In his role as Red Kettle Christmas Chair Zambito will be The Salvation Army's voice for the 2023 Red Kettle Drive throughout Ohio, Marshall, Wetzel, and Tyler counties.
"Most of us have seen The Salvation Army's red kettles during the Christmas season, and most of us have probably donated to them," Zambito said, "but I'm not sure how many of us truly realize what the donations are used for.
"After I researched it myself, I was impressed to see the love of Jesus Christ being exemplified through the daily work of The Salvation Army throughout the entire year," he added. "I am honored to represent this fantastic organization as the 2023 Red Kettle Christmas Chair."
Lt. John Lawrence, the corps officer at The Salvation Army said he was excited about working with Zambito.
"When I first met Dr. Zambito, he was giving a dental check up to one of our triplets," Lawrence said. "His calm demeanor and his willingness to express his faith led me to follow the direction of our advisory board and ask him to join us in our efforts to meet the needs of our community."
Zambito obtained a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the West Virginia University School of Dentistry in 1980 with a passion to create an innovative family dentistry practice, and has been known for being a very high-tech practice - "State of the Art with a Family Heart."
He has specialized training in cosmetics, facial aesthetics and implant dentistry while achieving the prestigious fellowship status from both American Academy of Facial Esthetics and Midwest Implant Institute.
His practice has been chosen Best of the Ohio Valley Readers' Choice award several times as well as being presented the Governor's Service award for working with veterans.
