New WVU Medicine Family Medical Center Opens Doors in Paden City

The town of Paden City has a new addition with the opening of WVU Medicine Paden City Family Medicine Clinic. The center is housed in the old American Legion building on the south end of town.
The project began two years ago when city council and the Paden City Development Authority began looking into the possibility of bringing medical services to the town. PCDA President Cork Bowen discovered the owner of the Legion building was interested in offering it for sale. Contact was made with WVU Medicine Wetzel County Hospital and the vision of a new medical service began.
With hard work and community support, the WVU Medicine Paden City Family Medicine Clinic opened its doors at noon Thursday. Fifty people participated in the ribbon cutting ceremony. After the official opening, guests were given tours of the facility and its five examining rooms
The clinic opened its doors for patients in mid-August. It operates with two nurse practitioners. In total, it has six employees. Each nurse practitioner can see as many as 25 patients a day. Those who wish to become patients can contact the clinic at 304-455-8020
Paden City Councilman Don Dilliman expressed the council's joy in this addition to the community.
"This is only the beginning," he said. "We hope to expand services with time."
