WHEELING — Those seeking a massage, permanent make-up or a tan — or who just want to get rid of some pain — have a new place to go locally.

Elite Massage Therapy and Spa has expanded and moved to a new location at 2112 Lumber Ave. in Elm Grove. Employees are inviting the public to come visit during a grand reopening celebration scheduled for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. A ribbon cutting is set for 11:30 a.m., and there will be cake and tacos on site from the Gringo’s food truck.

Owner Kristi Ferguson has been a licensed massage therapist for over 20 years, and she also serves as president of the Elm Grove Business Association.

She describes her spa as “more of a medical message type of business.” It also offers luxury services for manual lymphatic drainage, fibromyalgia, oncology, and sports recovery.

“We’re more for pain management,” she said.

Elite Massage Therapy and Spa also accept Health Savings Account cards.

The recent expansion provides space for additional services such as body contouring, permanent make-up tattooing and aesthetics.

Body contouring is the process of using electrical impulses to stimulate muscles for toning, Ferguson explained. Also available at the spa is laser lipo, a red light treatment that goes within the skin layers to melt the fat cells, she continued. Ferguson also offers a massage technique that breaks down cellulite.

Luxury skin care facials and microblading of brows are also available.

Ferguson actually relocated her business in early November to Lumbar Avenue from her past location on National Road, but she hesitated to do an official grand re-opening during the holidays.

She said what sets her apart from others providing the same services are her prices and the conveniences.

“I’m a far more reasonable price,” she said. “I want it to be affordable for the average person to come here when they want to, not just when they need to.”

Elite Massage Therapy and Spa offers monthly membership for those seeking massages on a weekly or twice a month basis.

“There are four of us (employees at the spa), and I’m looking to hire more,” she said.

The spa is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m.
