The United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley and the Bordas & Bordas law firm have announced that their fourth-annual "Match Madness" fundraising drive pulled in more than $90,000 during the month of March.
The United Way and Bordas & Bordas have partnered the last four years to where every dollar donated to the United Way in March will be matched by the law firm up to $15,000. Through the life of the partnership, the event has raised a total of $199,192.72.
"We had a significant number of new donors through Match Madness this year," said Staci Stephen, Executive Director of United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley. "This year was a huge success that allows us to further our reach in the community, but none of this would be possible without the Ohio Valley community and Bordas & Bordas. We can't thank Jamie Bordas and his entire team enough."
The United Way's campaign is themed "Raised Here. Stays Here" because all donations to the United Way stay local. The United Way funds more than 30 programs that support community members in Hancock, Brooke, Ohio, Marshall, Wetzel, Tyler and Belmont counties. Beyond that, the United Way is at the forefront of advocating for nonprofit organizations in the Ohio Valley, promoting giving and encouraging volunteerism.
