A semi truck and a passenger car crashed around 7:40 p.m. Saturday on Interstate 70 westbound near Exit 5, according to Philip Stahl, public information officer for the city of Wheeling.
A female was taken to WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital for serious injuries, and later transported to WVU Medicine Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, he said. Westbound traffic reopened just after 9 p.m.
The crash remains under investigation by Wheeling police, Stahl reported.
