Those with questions about Ohio County Schools soon will get to ask them directly to Superintendent Kim Miller as part of caffeinated discussion.
Miller will host her first "Coffee With The Superintendent" at 8 a.m. Friday, July 19, at Cafe 1925 at Wheeling Park's White Palace.
"It is going to be an opportunity for people to come ask questions, and have a conversation with the superintendent," Miller said. "We just want to give people an opportunity to talk, meet the superintendent, ask a question -- anything like that. We're hoping to do it monthly."
Those interested in attending should "just show up," Miller continued.
Miller said the idea for the superintendent coffee klatch was the idea of Ohio County Board of Education member Molly Aderholt.
She expects Aderholt to attend, as well as others working in the school district's Central Office.
"As time goes by, we will probably invite other people -- the football coach, the wrestling coach, (Wheeling Park High School band director) Jason Birch or (cheerleading coach) Shawna Shepherd," Miller added. "It will be a time to interact with people in the community, and a positive way to start the day."
Miller expects there to be questions about the school district proposed policy that would ban cellphone use during instruction at WPHS.
She also suspects those attending will ask about standardized test scores.
