Purchases of Big Macs, double cheeseburgers and Filet-O-Fish sandwiches next week could help fuel the financial appetites of some local school programs.
"Arch Support Digital Fundraiser Day" happens Wednesday, and local schools will be partnered with a local McDonald's restaurant.
Each of the partner schools will earn 20 percent of sales made through the McDonald's app at their partner restaurant. A minimum of $300 is guaranteed to each school.
Partnering schools and the McDonald's location they are partnered with are as follows:
– Brooke Primary North, 1514 Main St., Follansbee
– Weirton Elementary, 3 Springs Drive, Weirton
– Wellsville Junior/Senior High, 100 Lisbon Street, Wellsville
– Cross Creek Elementary, 140 Main Street, Wintersville
– Steubenville Catholic Central, 2106 Sunset Boulevard
– New Martinsville Elementary, 176 N. State Street, New Martinsville
– Caldwell Elementary School, 44193 Fairground Road
– St. Clairsville Elementary School, 67800 Mall Road, St. Clairsville
– Union Local Elementary School, 66640 Bel-Mor Road, Belmont
– St. Sylvester Central School , 145 North Main Street, Woodsfield
– St. Johns Central Academy, 300 28th St., Imperial Plaza, Bellaire
– Anna Maria Ayers Elementary, 300 Hanover St., Martins Ferry
– Barnesville High School, East Main St., Barnesville
– Corpus Christi School, 211 Warwood Ave., Warwood
– Bridge Street Middle School, 210 Cabela Drive, Triadelphia

"The Arch Support fundraiser is our way of giving back to the neighborhoods we serve," said local McDonald's owner/operator Bob Stoltz. "We're hoping local communities will rally around their schools and help make the Arch Support Digital Fundraiser Day a big success."
Because McDonald's is allowing partner schools to determine how their funds will be used, the Arch Support Fundraising Day will benefit a wide range of programs, according to organizers.
For example, at Wheeling Park High School, the funds will help music teacher Jason Birch improve the marching band. For Barnesville High School, the money will support initiatives within the athletic department.
The McDonald's app is available for download in the Apple App Store and the Android Google Play Store.
