Residents of Moundsville and elsewhere lined Jefferson Avenue on Saturday afternoon to cheer on those participating in the first Veterans Parade in the city in more than five decades. Marshall County Magistrate Zachary Allman, who served in the U.S. Army in Iraq from 2000-04, decided to restart the parade after attending Dallas, West Virginia’s Memorial Day celebration this year and being inspired to bring a celebration of military veterans to Moundsville.
