McDonald's Owner/Operators in and around Wheeling hosted a digital fundraiser to support those affected by the recent storms. Together Bob Stoltz, Amanda Stoltz-Moore, and Twila Mezan's restaurants raised a total of $6,556.28, which has been distributed to the American Red Cross to support those who need support in the wake of flooding in the Wheeling area.
Between 2 and 4 inches of rain fell within a matter of hours on Saturday, June 14, resulting in at least nine deaths in West Virginia. During the fundraiser, which took place on June 17, 20% of all purchases made through the McDonald's App at participating locations were donated.
"We know our community is suffering and we continue to offer our thoughts and prayers to all who have been affected," said Stoltz. "As McDonald's owner/operators, we support our local communities especially in the time of great need."
