Anne Ricci Takes Over as Wheeling Health Right Executive Director

ANNE RICCI

The board of directors of Wheeling Health Right has announced the appointment of Anne Ricci as its executive director.

Ricci, who started in the role July 1, succeeds longtime Executive Director Kathie Brown, whose 34-year legacy of service has helped shape Wheeling Health Right into a cornerstone of compassionate, accessible health care in the Upper Ohio Valley.

“Anne has shown herself to be a skilled and compassionate leader. Under Anne’s leadership we are confident that Wheeling Health Right will continue to provide outstanding care to some of the most vulnerable residents,” said Tony Martinelli, Board President, Wheeling Health Right Board of Directors.

With a professional background spanning the nonprofit, health care, and arts sectors, Ricci offers a fresh yet grounded perspective on leading mission-driven organizations.

She has worked across nonprofit and community organizations to amplify mission-driven work, develop strategic campaigns, and foster meaningful engagement with the public.

Her earlier experience includes leadership roles in sales and event management, as well as program coordination at a contemporary art museum and an artist residency program in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Her work at a regional center serving rural communities ignited her passion for inclusion, where she championed access to arts and education as vital tools for empowerment and sustainable development. This unique fusion of advocacy, creativity, and operational insight has become a hallmark of her leadership approach.

In addition to her professional roles, Ricci has served as treasurer on a nonprofit board, contributing to financial oversight and long-term strategic planning, demonstrating her dedication to organizational sustainability and governance excellence.

“I am deeply honored to lead Wheeling Health Right and continue its legacy of service,” Ricci said. “Kathie Brown has built a remarkable foundation, and I am excited to work with our staff, board, and partners to build on that legacy, expand access to care, and strengthen our impact in the community.”

Ricci and her spouse, Michael, reside in Wheeling with their daughter Angelene. She said she is committed to deepening the clinic’s relationships across the Upper Ohio Valley.
