West Virginia First Foundation Sets Listening Session on Opioid Settlement Funding Use
WHEELING — The Region 1 Expert Panel of the West Virginia First Foundation wants to discuss with community members about the work the foundation does in disbursing opioid settlement funds throughout the state.
The panel will hold a public listening session at 10 a.m. Monday at the Catholic Charities West Virginia office at 2000 Main St. in Wheeling. All community members are encouraged to attend.
The West Virginia First Foundation was created for receiving and disbursing funds collected through the state’s legal settlements with opioid manufacturers and distributors. The panel is made up of volunteers representing Brooke, Hancock, Ohio, Marshall and Wetzel counties.
This meeting will offer the public the opportunity to meet with their regional panel, ask questions, share ideas and learn more about the panel’s role in upcoming grant funding initiatives.
The event is designed to encourage open dialogue and idea sharing between the panel and the communities across those four counties. Attendees will be able to engage directly with panel members, gain insights into current WVFF funding announcements, and share their perspectives in an open, welcoming environment.
“This meet and greet is an important step in building stronger, more informed relationships with the communities we serve,” said Dr. Steven Corder, WVFF Region 1 Board Member. “We look forward to meaningful conversations and feedback in Wheeling and other communities across our region.”
