Ohio Valley Mall patrons continue to get more shopping options, as new stores keep opening under its roof.
Since this past summer, eight new entities have been announced that they will be opening locations inside of the mall. Piercings N More, JD Sports, Golden Ticket Cinemas, Angels All-Star Cheering, Academy Sports + Outdoors, Burlington Coat Factory, Boot Barn, and Ironblast’s Game Zone.
Ironblast’s Game Zone opened in the former Sam’s Goody location in July, Angel’s All-Star Cheering opened in the former Elder-Beerman location in September, Piercings N More opened its doors on Tuesday at the former Aeropostale location, and JD Sports is scheduled to open today.
Mall Marketing Director Candi Noble-Greathouse said that, although multiple mall tenants offer ear piercings, Piercings N More will offer a greater variety of body piercings.
Located at the former Finish Line location, JD Sports is the updated version of the store and opens its doors Thursday. JD Sports purchased Finish Line in 2018, and has since been converting its locations into JD Sports stores.
And after over a year without a theater, Golden Ticket Cinemas is set to open in November at the former AMC Theater location. Noble-Greathouse said that the theater is aiming for a soft opening just in time to show “Wicked For Good.” According to the theater’s website, it is currently offering pre-sale tickets, but only for “Wicked For Good” starting as soon as November 20.
The cinema will feature luxury recliners, an extensive food and beverage menu, deliver-to-seat service, and upgraded visuals and sound.
Academy Sports + Outdoors and Burlington will soon occupy much of what used to be a Sears location, and Boot Barn will set up shop in part of another former Macy’s location. Those stores are expected to open by late 2026.
