Materkoski Named Chamber President

The Wheeling Area Chamber of Commerce has found its new leader, announcing Wednesday that Jennifer Materkoski has been named its new president.

Materkoski joins the Chamber following nearly eight years with Williams Lea, where she has served as Global Communications Director since 2019. Throughout her nearly 20-year career, she has helped organizations communicate with purpose, navigate change with stability, and build environments where employees and communities thrive.

“I am so excited to join the Chamber during this transitional time and help shape the organization’s future,” Materkoski said. “I look forward to elevating the Chamber as a true partner to local businesses, a connector across industries, and a catalyst for economic opportunity.”

A Wheeling native, Materkoski is a graduate of Wheeling Park High School and West Liberty University. She also holds a master’s degree in mass communications and public relations from Kent State University.

She resides in Wheeling with her husband and three children.

After several years leading communications in a global corporate environment, Materkoski says she is eager to return to a community-centered role.

“The Board is very happy to welcome Jennifer as our new president,” said Rod Haley, Chairman

of the Wheeling Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

“Her vision aligns with our goals for modernizing the Chamber and strengthening our support for the Wheeling area business community. We look forward to her leadership.”

Materkoski replaces Kurt Zende, who is now the City of Wheeling’s economic development specialist.
