Paden City Woman Admits To Embezzling $13,701 From Wetzel-Tyler Board of Health

A Paden City woman pleaded guilty this week to embezzling nearly $14,000 from the Wetzel-Tyler Board of Health.

Marsha Ann Carse, 63, entered a guilty plea on Tuesday in Tyler County Circuit Court to the felony offense of embezzlement. She was indicted during the October grand jury term in connection with the alleged offense arising from her former employment with the Wetzel-Tyler Board of Health.

It was alleged that she embezzled $13,701.58 from the Board of Health from 2016-22. A felony charge of falsifying accounts was dismissed pursuant to a plea agreement.

The court ordered a pre-sentence investigation and report be completed. Sentencing is scheduled for 10 a.m. Jan. 20.

The case was investigated by the Office of the State Auditor, Public Integrity and Fraud Unit and was prosecuted by Tyler County Prosecutor D. Luke Furbee.
