Candidate Amends Filing After Filing in Wrong District
WHEELING — The West Virginia Secretary of State’s filing list shows a change in the filing for Republican Riley Watkins of Wheeling, a candidate for the House of Delegates.
Watkins initially filed in Delegate District 4, but after consulting with the West Virginia Secretary of State’s Office he learned he should actually file in District 5, Watkins said.
Watkins first had listed a Hawthorne Court address as his residence, and he is now listed as living on Market Street downtown.
No other candidates have filed in District 5, which is presently represented in the House by Delegate Shawn Fluharty, D-Ohio.
Republican Dolph Santorine has now joined the District 4 race, and has a GOP primary with Derek Ennis.
The election filing period ends at midnight Jan. 31.
