MARTINS FERRY – Three men were arrested on drug related charges in Martins Ferry this past Sunday.
City residents Mark Kinkus, Michael Kurtley, and Reed Morrow were arrested at a home on Clinton Street around 5 a.m. after several community tips, according to Martins Ferry Police Chief Vincent West.
West said that the ongoing investigation started by complaints about traffic and different people going in and out of that residence.
“We definitely take the tip seriously. We ask any residents with any information of suspicious activity in their neighborhoods to please call us,” West said.
Kinkus was arrested on one count of trafficking in drugs, one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, and one count of possessing drug abuse instruments.
Kurtley was arrested on one count of possessing drug abuse instruments and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Morrow was arrested on one count of possession of drug paraphernalia and one count of possessing drug abuse instruments.
“We found some methamphetamine, it was just a few grams but we found a lot of drug abuse instruments, meaning needles and smoking devices that’s used for smoking methamphetamine,” West said. “We just had a lot of tips about the house. We’ve actually been watching Kinkus for a while, and this house was actually raided in April by the Sheriff’s Department.”
Bridgeport Police Department assisted Martins Ferry on the arrest and all three residents were booked into the Belmont County Jail.
Kinkus’ bond is $22,000, while Kurtley and Morrow’s bond are both $2,000 each.
