West Virginia ‘I Voted’ Sticker Contest Winners Announced

WHEELING – The Ohio County winners of the first-ever “I Voted” sticker contest sponsored by the West Virginia Secretary of State’s Office have been announced.

The sticker is given to voters after they cast a ballot in person during early voting or on Election Day.

First place winner was Mataya Stargen; second place, Jillian Mull; and third place, Olivia Melchiori. All are students at Triadelphia Middle School.

Ohio County Elections Coordinator Erin Allietta announced that 110 students entered the contest.

The artwork from the first-place winner will now be sent to the WVSOS’s Office for the regional contest. Four regional finalists will be announced on Feb. 16.

Those four regional finalists will be judged and voted upon by the public on the WVSOS Facebook page.

The state winner will be announced on March 11 during West Virginia Civics Learning Week at the State Capitol.
