No Kings Protest Set For Saturday In Elm Grove

Community members will gather at the intersection of National Road and Kruger Street in Elm Grove on Saturday from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. for a peaceful “No Kings” rally advocating for democratic principles, equal justice, and accountable leadership.

The event is part of a broader grassroots movement, according to organizers, emphasizing that in the United States, power belongs to the people — not to any one individual.

Local residents, community organizers, and concerned citizens.

There will be signs, singing, brightly colored clothing, American flags, community gathering.

Local participants will join thousands of nonviolent protesters across the country. Large crowds are expected. Participants will be encouraged to wear brightly colorful clothing to show that those who oppose the current administration will not be controlled by fear, anger and dishonesty. Events will be occurring all over the Ohio Valley. “No Kings,” according to organizers, means that no one is above the law and we insist on preserving American ideals like rule of law, checks and balances, free elections, democracy and our rights and freedoms guaranteed by the constitution.

A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. Organizers expect all participants to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with the rally’s values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to this event.

Starting at $2.99/week.
