WEIRTON – Those looking to recycle their unwanted metal or electronics have a new option.

Santoro Metals is officially open for business, with the ownership welcoming family, friends and other guests for a grand opening Saturday morning.

Located at 4701 Freedom Way, Santoro Metals accepts metal and electronic scrap from both the home and business. They are open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to noon, Saturday.

Owner Rob Santoro noted he and his brother originally are from Follansbee and found an opportunity to bring their experience in metal and electronics recycling back to the Upper Ohio Valley, having operated facilities in neighboring states.

“We grew up here. We wanted to come back here,” Santoro said.

They accept a variety of metals, including copper, brass, aluminum and steel, as well as e-scrap such as computers, circuit boards, servers, phones, and more.

Those bringing materials for recycling will transport it to the Freedom Way location, have it sorted and weighed, and receive payment for the materials.

The business also wants to be involved in the community, with Santoro noting efforts to raise funds to benefit charitable organizations, similar to practices they have done in other communities, such as Children’s Hospital and Ronald McDonald House charities.

“We want to give back. It’s the people and community who help us succeed,” he said.

Santoro noted they currently employ around nine local residents, with plans to grow.

“We’re going to be here a long time,” Santoro said.
