Police Use Former EORH Building For Training

(Photo by Shelley Hanson) A Barnesville police vehicle can be seen in the East Ohio Regional Hospital parking lot on Wednesday. Law enforcement and other first responders from across Belmont County took advantage of a still-empty EORH building on Wednesday to conduct training, according to a dispatcher with the Martins Ferry Police Department. Seeing several police cruisers in the hospital’s parking lot piqued the curiosity of some residents, but the dispatcher said they were not responding to an incident, just training there. Some of the departments participating included the Belmont County Sheriff’s Department and Coroner’s Office and police from Shadyside, St. Clairsville, Powhatan, Bellaire and Barnesville.
