Marshall Co. Retired School Employees to meet

The April 9 meeting of the Marshall County Association of Retired School Employees will be held at noon at Moundsville’s Perkins Restaurant.

The guest speaker will be Kevin Brown, the West Virginia Region I director. The community service project will be donations to the Marshall County Animal Shelter, such as small rugs, blankets and money.

OVGH nursing school alumni to meet

Ohio Valley General Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association will hold its next meeting at 6 p.m. April 21 at Bethlehem United Presbyterian Church, 45 Chapel Road in Wheeling. The meeting is open to all alumni members both LPNs and RNs.  All members are invited and encouraged to attend.

United Steelworkers meeting planned

The United Steelworkers S.O.A.R. Chapter 23-9 will have their monthly meeting Wednesday, June 4, at the United Steelworkers Union Hall in Martins Ferry at 10 a.m.

Insurance representatives will be available to answer any questions. A guest speaker from the Belmont County Young Democrats will give a presentation. All retirees and their significant others are welcome to attend. Following the meeting, light refreshments will be available.

Prevention luncheon planned

A child abuse and neglect prevention luncheon will be held at 12 p.m. on Tuesday at Undo’s West in St. Clairsville. This luncheon will be held by Belmont County Department of Job & Family services along with the Board of Commissioners will honor those who advocate for abused and neglected children.

Tri-County Water Authority report available

The annual financial report of the Tri-County Water Authority for the Fiscal Year 2025, has been completed and is available for public inspection at the water office, located at 49350 Main Street, Harrisville, during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 7:45 a.m. to noon or 12:30 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. A copy of the report will be provided upon request.

Farm Fest on tap

The County Road 39 Farm Fest has scheduled its 2026 Summer Bash & Cruise-In for Sunday, June 14 at Pinkerton Gross Farm, 775 County Road 39/Unionport Road, Bloomingdale.

There will be a pancake breakfast and vendors on site from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with the cruise-in slated for noon to 3 p.m.

All-American Burger Co. and Vandy’s Sugar Shack also will be on site. Entertainment will include DJ Cool Bobby C and other guests.
