MOUNDSVILLE — A new shop in the historic Jefferson Avenue Business District is celebrating its one-year anniversary.

Grave Creek Botanical marked the occasion this week with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Marshall County Chamber of Commerce.

Leslie Whorton, owner of Grave Creek Botanical, said she is excited to celebrate the business’s first year of success.

“We wanted to mark the occasion with an official ribbon cutting after spending the past year building our brand and updating our space with fresh paint, new lighting, updated windows and a new sign to create a more vibrant and welcoming environment for our customers,” she said.

“Our goal is to continue building a unique destination and experience in Moundsville where the community can shop, learn and enjoy themselves all in one place.

“We truly appreciate the support we’ve received over the past year from the community and other small-business owners and look forward to our next chapter.”

The shop specializes in houseplants and accessories. It also offers horticultural knowledge and techniques for customers of all experience levels.

Grave Creek Botanical is located at 318 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville.

Hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. The shop is closed Sundays and Mondays.
