MOUNDSVILLE — The Marshall County Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for its next Launchpad Pitch Contest.
The event, scheduled for 5 p.m. May 28 at Grand Vue Park, will feature three businesses pitching why they should win this year’s cash prize. Participants include Living My Best Cigar Life, 259 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville; Game Masters, Games and More, 286 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville; and Gracefully Gluten-Free LLC of Moundsville.
The public can purchase tickets for $25 each. Heavy appetizers will be served, and a cash bar will be available.
“This annual event highlights local and regional entrepreneurship by giving emerging business owners a platform to present their ideas, connect with the community and compete for startup support,” said Scott Reager, executive director of the Marshall County Chamber of Commerce. “Applicants were required to submit a detailed application outlining their business concept, goals and funding needs, along with a video pitch explaining their vision and purpose.”
The businesses will compete for cash and additional support.
“The winner will receive a comprehensive prize package including a $2,500 cash award, marketing and promotional support valued at more than $3,500, chamber membership benefits and additional business development and educational opportunities,” Reager said.
The contest winner will be determined by a fan-favorite vote. People can purchase votes for $1 each.
“In preparation for the event, each finalist will participate in four educational workshop sessions designed to strengthen their business strategy, improve presentation skills and prepare them for investor-level pitching,” he said. “During the live event, each contestant will present before an audience and panel.”
“Attendees also will participate in audience voting, with $1 votes contributing toward the final outcome, allowing the community to directly support their preferred business concept,” Reager added.
Reager encouraged residents to attend and support the event.
“The chamber invites community members, business leaders and supporters of entrepreneurship to attend and help encourage the growth of new businesses in Marshall County,” he said. “This event continues the chamber’s commitment to fostering innovation, supporting small-business development and strengthening the local economy.”
