American Legion Post 1 holding Memorial Day ceremony at new location

The American Legion Post 1 will be moving the location of its annual Memorial Day ceremony. The new location will be at the Post’s headquarters at 45 Sycamore Ave. in Wheeling, rather than Wheeling’s Heritage Port, where it had been held in previous years.

The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, May 25, at the Post 1 headquarters.

Memorial Day ceremony scheduled for Monday in Bellaire

A Memorial Day service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday at City Park in Bellaire. The hosts are American Legion Post 52, VFW Post 626 and DAV Chapter 117. The main speaker for the service will be Eric Slater, the commander of the VFW Post 626 and a 20-year Air Force veteran.

Belmont County holding Memorial Day ceremony

The community is invited to attend a Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday at 7:30am in front of the Belmont County Courthouse. The veterans’ motorcycling organization, Run For The Wall, will be departing Belmont County after the ceremony to continue their journey from the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall to the Middle East Conflicts Wall in Marseilles, Illinois.

Fiber optic installation scheduled near Cameron

Portions of U.S. 250 (Dragon Highway) and W.Va. 88 (Fairmont Pike Road) in Cameron will be restricted to one lane from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., beginning Wednesday, May 27, through early August for fiber optic line installation. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Motorists are advised to slow down and expect slight delays.

Guardrail adjustments happening in Ohio County

A portion of Interstate 70, both eastbound and westbound will have shoulder closures from milepost 7.0 (Middle Creek Bridge) to milepost 14.5 (Pennsylvania state line), from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Friday, May 29, for guardrail adjustments. Motorists are advised to slow down.

Portion of Fish Ridge Road to close for slip repair

A portion of Marshall County Route 94 (Fish Ridge Road) at milepost 2.0 will be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. beginning on Tuesday, May 26, through mid-July for slip repair. Flaggers will be maintaining traffic during working hours then temporary signals will be used. Emergency vehicles and school buses will be accommodated. Motorists are advised to follow detour signs and use an alternate route.

As an alternate route, use County Route 250/11 (Fish Creek Road) and County Route 96 (Reid Ridge Road).
