Verdantas Cuts Ribbon To Celebrate New Offices

A couple of floors have made all the difference for the Verdantas engineering firm.
After spending years at a suite in the lower levels of 2001 Main St. in Wheeling, the firm moved earlier this year to the building’s sixth floor, offering much more space for employees headquartered there and those visiting from out of town to take care of business. The company celebrated the move Tuesday morning with a ribbon cutting with the Wheeling-Ohio County Chamber of Commerce.
Lucas Skelly, a staff engineer in Verdantas’ Wheeling office, said the view from the new digs was a gift itself, allowing employees a bird’s-eye view of the progress Wheeling has made in the last few years with projects like the Downtown Streetscape Project and other improvements.
Plus, he said, the space is crucial for the company to continue its work. Verdantas has offices in 25 states, including St. Clairsville and Pittsburgh.
“With all the work we have coming up with the city (of Wheeling) and other local municipalities, this allows us to get our staff in here on a consistent basis,” he said. “We can get the work done and also have a local face in the community.”
