Wheeling Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Arrest
A Wheeling man was arrested Monday morning on drug charges following a traffic stop near Bridge Park, the Wheeling Police Department announced Monday.
Gabriel Matthew Gelena, 22, was charged with one count of possession to deliver a controlled substance.
Officers patrolling Wheeling Island around 8 a.m. initiated a traffic stop on North Wabash Street near Bridge Park. When the officer approached the driver, they located suspected narcotics inside the vehicle. After being transported to police headquarters, the substance tested positive for approximately 22.6 grams of methamphetamine.
Gelina was taken into custody and arraigned before an Ohio County magistrate, then transported to the Northern Regional Jail. Bond was set at $15,000.
