Wheeling Farmers’ Market Presents Scholarships

April Lockard and Adeline Schimnoski were the winners of $500 scholarships given by the Wheeling Farmers’ Market. The goal, according to farmers’ market organizers, was to give back and support the community and high school graduates. ach graduate had involvement in an FFA or 4H program. They wrote an essay telling how farmers markets have personally affected their lives. Lockard will be attending West Virginia Northern Community College for business and Schimnoski will be attending WVNCC for nursing. The Wheeling Farmers’ Market is held every Saturday from 8 a.m.-noon starting Memorial Day weekend through the month of October and is located at 1225 National Road in Wheeling.
