New Vrindaban Celebrates 60 Years Of ISKON With Open House

New Vrindaban and the Palace of Gold will open their doors to the public on Sunday, Aug. 30, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., celebrating 60 years of The International Society of Krishna Consciousness in the Western world.
According to the ISKON website, documents were filed in New York City on July 13, 1966, to incorporate the society.
The site will be open from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Aug. 30 and feature several events that will give visitors a deeper look at ISKON and its history.
"We wanted this day to feel like an honest homecoming," said Jaya Kṛṣṇa das, Temple President of New Vrindaban. "Sixty years in, we're not just celebrating what we've built -- we're celebrating everything we've learned along the way, and inviting our neighbors and friends to be part of what comes next."
Guests will be able to take complementary guided tours of the Palace of Gold and the Krishna Temple, as well as enjoy a traditional fusion lunch at 1:30 p.m. There will be several tasting experiences throughout the day, including iced chai, as well as opportunities for henna application.
Family-friendly activities will be available, including ox-cart rides, and there will be a live concert featuring local musicians that will have a West Virginia music country flair.
