WesBanco Donates $20K To Wheeling Chamber

WHEELING -- WesBanco presented the Wheeling Area Chamber of Commerce with a $20,000 donation Monday to help support several of the chamber’s signature programs and events.

The contribution will help fund the Economic Outlook Conference, Leadership Wheeling and the annual Fantasy in Lights Parade.

Matt Drahos, WesBanco’s Wheeling market president, said the bank values the chamber’s role in strengthening the local business community.

“The Wheeling Chamber is a staple of the community,” Drahos said. “And this is one way we can give back to a lot of the organizations in the community, and help a lot of the businesses and partners we have in the community already.”

Drahos noted that because WesBanco is headquartered in downtown Wheeling, the company sees firsthand the impact the chamber has on businesses and residents.

Chamber President Jen Materkoski said the organization is grateful for WesBanco’s longstanding support.

“We’re very grateful to have them as a partner,” Materkoski said. “WesBanco has been one of our longest-running partnerships for a countless number of years. They’ve been supporting at quite a large level the programs we do at the chamber, helping make things more accessible to our small business members as well.

“Anytime we’re able to invest in businesses and business owners, it’s all coming back into the community by strengthening the business community and strengthening our local economy,” she added.
