Free Medical, Dental and Vision Clinic Coming to Wheeling

By From STAFF REPORTS 2 min read

WHEELING -- Samaritan's Purse, an international Christian relief organization, will bring a free medical outreach clinic to Wheeling Aug. 21-23 in partnership with Newbridge Church.

The clinic will provide free medical, dental and vision care to community members regardless of insurance status or ability to show identification.

"Samaritan’s Purse responded to the historic flooding that impacted Valley Grove and neighboring communities last year. As they looked to expand the reach of their community medical clinic, they reached out again to partner with us," said Pastor Chris Figaretti, lead pastor at Newbridge Church. "These services will provide for many in our community and beyond who have limited access to care. Patients will be able to choose between a dental screening or a vision screening, and they may receive a general well visit, including well-child visits."

The clinic will be held at WesBanco Arena. Hours are 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Services will include:

-- Vision exams and eyeglass making

-- Dental exams, fillings, extractions and dental hygiene

-- General medical exams, well-child visits and school physicals

-- Blood pressure and diabetes screenings

-- Lab testing, as available

-- Care for a range of additional health concerns, as providers are able

No insurance or identification is required. The clinic is first come, first served, with no appointments or advance registration.

Organizers expect strong community turnout and encourage residents to arrive early. Each clinic day will close once capacity is reached, so closing times may vary.

Starting at /week.
