Cabbage roll dinner scheduled for Aug. 11
WHEELING - The Warwood United Methodist Church, 1438 Warwood Ave., Wheeling, is scheduled to serve a cabbage roll dinner on Aug. 11 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. The meal includes homemade cabbage rolls, mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls, and choice of dessert. The cost is $15. Meals can be eaten in or taken out. After dinner people can visit the farmers' market in Garden Park and hear music by the On the Rocks band.
Portion of Mt. de Chantal Road closed Friday morning
WHEELING, W.Va. – Mt. de Chantal Road between Hunter Avenue and Pallister Road will be closed for paving from 8-10 a.m., Friday, Aug. 7. Motorists are asked to use an alternate route during the closure. Detour signs will be posted. Please note that the schedule is subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
Portion of Heritage Trail to close for water well work
WHEELING, W.Va. – Now through Aug. 17, crews will be rehabilitating a water well located just south of Viking Drive in Warwood. To accommodate this work, a section of the Heritage Trail in the area will be temporarily closed. Signs will be posted to direct trail users along a detour. The project timeline may change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
Pole replacement scheduled for Monday
The intersection of 16th and Chapline streets in Wheeling will be restricted from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 10, for an electric pole replacement. Flaggers will maintain traffic. Motorists are advised to slow down and expect delays. Also, a portion of U.S. 40 from the intersection of Lumber Avenue to intersection of Shepherd Street in Wheeling will be restricted to one lane from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., beginning Monday, Aug. 10, through Monday, Aug. 24, for an electric pole replacement. Traffic will be controlled by flaggers. Motorists are advised to slow down and expect delays.

Bridge inspection scheduled near Wheeling Tunnel
A portion of Interstate 70 eastbound will have the right lane closed at milepost 1.23 near the Wheeling Tunnel from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., on Thursday, Aug. 20, for a bridge inspection. The Market Street ramp will also be closed during this time. Motorists are advised to slow down, use alternate routes, and expect delays.
For alternate routes, use U.S. 40 westbound or U.S. 40 to Interstate 70 and Interstate 470.
