Autumn On The Avenue Is Slated Saturday

MOUNDSVILLE -- Autumn On The Avenue, a fall festival featuring more than 50 vendors, food trucks, live music, sales at local shops and more, is slated from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday on Jefferson Avenue in the historic downtown Moundsville business district.
Moundsville Vice Mayor Sara Wood-Shaw, coordinator of Autumn On The Avenue, said Jefferson Avenue between Second and Fifth streets will be closed to traffic for the event.
She said vendors and food trucks will be in the middle of the street, while Jefferson Avenue shops will have their doors open for business.
“The green space will have organizations offering free activities like face painting, crafts and apple cider,” Wood-Shaw said. “All the businesses will be offering some specials or discounts and raffles.”
Food trucks will include Wood Fired Pizza, Izzy’s, Hibachi Jude, Triple Beans and Jonah’s Dog Shack.
“We have a lot vendors selling breads, cookies, pies and jams,” she noted.
Live music will be provided by the band Kanawha.
Wood-Shaw said the event is a collaboration among Downtown Moundsville, formerly known as Moundsville On-Trac; the Moundsville Arts & Culture Commission; the Marshall County Chamber of Commerce; the Marshall County FRN; and Jefferson Avenue businesses.
“Moundsville used to do this years ago. It was a big fall festival by the merchants and it was a huge deal. It hadn’t happened in many years, so last year we started small and didn’t shut down the street. It was successful and we decided to do it bigger this year,” she said. “We’re hoping it will be a success and we continue building on this every year.”
