New Martinsville Vintage Regatta Saturday races canceled

The high waters in the Ohio River at New Martinsville have forced the New Martinsville Vintage Raceboat Regatta to cancel its Saturday races, the event announced on its Facebook page.

Regatta organizers will continue monitoring the river to see whether races can be run on Sunday. Registration hours that had been scheduled for Friday will now happen Saturday.

Electric work scheduled for 16th and Chapline streets

The turning lane at intersection of 16th Street and Chapline Street in Wheeling will be closed from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10, for electric work. Flaggers will maintain traffic. Motorists are advised to slow down and expect delays.

Pipeline to be installed on Taylors Ridge

A portion of Marshall County Route 2/1 (Taylors Ridge Road) will be restricted at milepost 2.14 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. beginning on Tuesday, Sept. 8, through Friday, Sept. 11, for a pipeline installation. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Motorists are advised to slow down and slight expect delays.

Lane closures scheduled for Veterans Memorial Bridge

A portion of U.S. 22 eastbound on the Veterans Memorial Bridge will have the two right lanes closed on Wednesday, Sept. 9, for bridge maintenance. The closures will begin on the Ohio side and move across the bridge to the West Virginia side throughout the day. Motorists are advised to slow down in the construction area.

Paving scheduled for Main Street in Wheeling

A portion of W.Va. 2 (Main Street) between Fourth Street and Northern Parkway in Wheeling will be restricted to one lane, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., beginning Thursday, Sept. 10, through Thursday, Sept. 17, for paving. Flaggers will maintain traffic. Motorists are advised to slow down and expect delays.

Energy Highway to see lane restrictions

A portion of W.Va. 2 (Energy Highway) south of Moundsville near the Covestro Plant will be restricted to one lane from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. beginning Friday, Sept. 25, through Friday, Oct. 2, for light replacements. Flaggers will be present. Motorists are advised to reduce speed and expect slight delays in this area.
