No injuries following well pad explosion
There were no injuries following a Friday morning explosion and fire at a Marshall County well pad, Marshall County EMA Director Tom Hart said.
The Marshall County 911 center received a call at 6:58 a.m. Friday about an explosion at the EQT Hines Pad on Campbell Hill in Limestone. A condensate tank on the well pad had exploded.
Firefighters had the fire out by 7:45 a.m. A cause for the explosion is under investigation.
The Limestone VFD, Moundsville VFD, Marshall County EMS, Marshall County Sheriff's Office, Marshall County EMA all responded and the Marshall County Tank Task Force was activated.
Union Local Rotary spaghetti dinner Oct. 2
MORRISTOWN — Union Local Rotary Club is sponsoring the 24th Annual Spaghetti Dinner on Friday, Oct. 2, from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the Union Local School Commons. The dinner will be prior to the Cambridge-Union Local football game.
The dinner includes spaghetti, meatballs, salad, drink, and dessert. Tickets are $10 and may be purchased at the door or from any Union Local Rotary Club member. Children under 5 years old eat for free.
The dinner is co-sponsored by Wilson Funeral Homes & Furniture Store. All proceeds raised will go to the community or humanitarian projects.
Road work scheduled for Pine Hill Road
A portion of Marshall County Route 14 (Pine Hill Road) in Wheeling will be restricted from the intersection of W.Va. 88 to the intersection of Border Lane from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. beginning Monday, Sept. 28, through Sept. 2027 for pipe replacement, milling, paving, and guardrail replacement. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Motorists are advised to reduce speed and expect slight delays.

W.Va. 2 to see lane restrictions in Moundsville
A portion of W.Va. 2 northbound in Moundsville will have alternating lane closures from milepost 18.09 to milepost 18.85 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. beginning on Monday, Sept.r 28, through, Friday, Oct. 2, for road maintenance. Traffic signs will maintain traffic. Motorists are advised to slow down and expect delays.

I-70 lane, ramp closures to begin Monday
A portion of Interstate 70 eastbound will have the right lane closed from milepost 0.80 to milepost 1.27 from 7 a.m. to 4: p.m., on Monday, Sept. 28, 2026, and Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2026, for road maintenance. The Market Street ramp will also be closed during this time. Motorists are advised to slow down, use alternate routes, and expect delays.
For alternate routs, use U.S. 40 westbound or U.S. 40 to Interstate 70 and Interstate 470.
