The Bethlehem Police Department is investigating a series of vehicle break-ins that occurred in the village Wednesday night.
Bethlehem Police were not able to offer details, as the investigation remains open, but did confirm they were looking into break-ins into cars around the village.
Bethlehem Mayor Matthew Saseen said he has been working with Bethlehem Police Chief Russ Fehr concerning the break-ins. While they were aware of break-ins in Wheeling, Wednesday was when they were first reported in Bethlehem.
Saseen said Bethlehem Police will take added measures.
“We’re going to uptick night patrol,” he said, “and we’re going to continue to work with our other local police departments to make sure we can see that this gets resolved.”
Saseen is asking Bethlehem residents with potential video footage of the suspects contact the village offices at 304-233-9527 to provide it to police.
“We already have received some videos from residents,” he said. “We’re encouraging everyone to work as a village so we can get past this.”
Bethlehem Police Officer Collin Jamison reminded residents to make sure their cars are locked when they’re parked at night, removing valuables from the car.
