Felony Convictions Handed Down in Ohio County

WHEELING – Ohio County Prosecuting Attorney Shawn Turak on Thursday announced two separate felony convictions stemming from local cases. Defendants in both cases were sentenced to prison. Brooke Dulaney appeared before the Honorable Michael Olejasz on July 2 for sentencing. She was convicted of the felony offense of Driving a Vehicle in an Impaired State Causing Serious Bodily Injury to Another on May 13 of this year. FOLLANSBEE — A parade and 5K race are in the works as part of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Garibaldi Lodge. The Giuseppe Garibaldi Lodge was incorporated in October 1926 in Follansbee as a fellowship and service organization for the community’s Italian residents and their descendants. Among its local activities was the organization of an annual celebration held the first weekend of August for 60 years until 2004. WHEELING — The Ohio County Republican Party has a new chairman who will oversee a 12-member board that currently has just five members. Michael Borsuk, a recent graduate of Marshall University, is the new chairman. He will begin graduate studies at Marshall in the fall. Borsuk also will serve as acting treasurer of the committee until one is appointed. Bob Luchetti will serve as vice chair.
