Economists Say Ohio Gas Tax Holiday Savings Not Enough

The squeeze Ohioans are feeling from increased gas prices will not be resolved by short-term fixes, says a survey of economists within the state. Experts weighed in on the prospect of a three-month gas tax holiday proposed in the House by Republican Reps. Adam C. Bird of New Richmond and Ty D. Matthews of Findlay. The bill introduced earlier this month would slash gas taxes by half from 38.5 to 19.25 cents per gallon for 90 days. Natural gas would be reduced from 47 to 23.5 cents per gallon.
