WHEELING — Bethlehem resident David R. Burke, 72, was one of two victims killed in the three-vehicle crash occurring Saturday on Interstate 470, according to Wheeling Police.
The Wheeling Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Team is continuing its investigation today after the crash involving two semi-trucks and an SUV collided at about 3:15 p.m., Saturday on I-470 eastbound near Bethlehem.
A second victim has not yet been identified. During the crash response, a Wheeling police officer was taken to Wheeling Hospital for minor injuries and was treated and released.
Police investigating the crash have not determined what caused the first tractor-trailer to crash.
The police department reminded motorists to obey speed limits, keep their distance between the vehicle in front of you and to not talk or text on a cellphone, spokesman Philip Stahl said.
