Chapel Road Bridge Project
Crews with Kokosing Construction continued working on the Chapel Road Bridge in Bethlehem this week.
While the actual bridge deck pours are complete, crews still have to complete construction on the approach ramps, protective walls along the sidewalks of the span and install protective fencing across the structure.
According to West Virginia Division of Highways officials, the 47-year-old bridge, which stands approximately 100 feet above Interstate 470, was initially scheduled to be closed to traffic through mid-September.
The Chapel Road Bridge project is scheduled to proceed with a second bridge deck replacement project of the nearby Spruce Street Bridge, which also spans above I-470 near the same location.
