WHEELING — A traffic accident on Interstate 70 east at Exit 2B at Washington Avenue closed the ramp while police investigated the accident that occurred around 7 a.m. The ramp has now reopened. However, police remain there, and motorists are urged to use caution while traveling in the area.
Traffic is backing up on I-70 east toward Elm Grove where motorists were being directed to exit at Elm Grove Exit 5 and travel west on National Road back toward Wheeling Hospital.
Preliminary reports indicate a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at the interstate ramp now closed. The coroner’s office has been called to the scene.
