Water bubbles to the surface as employees with Ohio-West Virginia Excavating examine a waterline break in a parking lot at Wheeling Hospital on Tuesday. Wheeling Fire Department Chief Larry Helms said the line was either 6 or 8 inches in diameter. Hospital spokeswoman Thea Gompers said there was no interruption to water service for the facility. The break was discovered between 6 and 7 a.m. A temporary line was installed from the former Continuous Care Center building. Ohio-West Virginia Excavating was expected to make the repairs, estimated to be complete sometime today. Also responding to the break was the Wheeling Water Department and Beckett Landscaping with its small backhoes.
