Ohio County Officials Tour Flood-Damaged Triadelphia
Ohio County Commissioner Tim McCormick Tuesday witnessed first-hand some of the damage done Saturday in Triadelphia when three severe storms hit the area in about a seven-hour span.
From Midway Street to Pickle Patch neighborhood, residents experienced basement flooding and mud issues from the rainfall, as more than three inches fell in a short time. Trash lined both areas as residents cleaned out their homes.
McCormick said the county has enlisted the West Virginia National Guard to assist with the cleanup. Guardsmen will be traveling through the area over the next few days to collect damaged belongings.
U.S. 40 through Triadelphia was closed at times Saturday evening as deep water sat on the road.
