Section of Westbound Fulton Bridge Removed

A section of the westbound Fulton Bridge on Interstate 70 has already been removed while crews work to construct new bridge piers in the same area as part of the ongoing I-70 Bridges Project. The section of I-70 west between the Oglebay Park and 16th Street/W.Va. 2 exits is expected to be closed through Nov. 1. The project includes the rehabilitation or replacement of 26 bridges on I-70 in Ohio County during a two-year construction schedule. As part of the work, the West Virginia Division of Highways announced it will close the U.S. 250 on-ramp to I-70 westbound that leads traffic into Wheeling Tunnel from 7 to 11 p.m. today to allow for shoring work.
