Updated: Belmont County Officials Confirm Two COVID-19 Cases in Belmont County
There are two active COVID-19 cases in Belmont County, Belmont County Health Department officials said Friday.
A couple in their 50s tested positive for COVID-19, Deputy Health Commissioner Rob Sproul announced Friday afternoon. They were tested earlier this week at the health department. Sproul said the man and woman had attended a political event in Washington, D.C., where a Cuyahoga County resident Al’s was exposed to and later tested positive for the virus.
During a news conference hosted by Gov. Mike DeWine on Friday afternoon, Dr. Amy Acton, director of the Ohio Department of Health,announced that at least one person in Belmont County had tested positive for coronavirus, or COVID-19.
Local officials with the Belmont County Health Department and Emergency Managment Agency confirmed that two people received positive test results. More information will be released following a press conference at the EMA headquarters.
